Jesus M. Rodriguez was born in Caracas, Venezuela and since his childhood his love for making movies marked his life. His first films were horror movies he shot when he was 13 in Super 8, filled with homemade special effects.
Later, Jesus completed a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and a Mater's Degree Equivalent in Biology.
Jesus also studied acting, production, graphic design, ballet and modern dance. His first jobs in the industry were as an Art Director, Set and Production Designer for feature films, music videos and commercials.
As a Creative Director Jesus has received more than 70 international awards, including a Gold Medal in the New York Festivals, Best of Show in PROMAX-BDA Latin America and Best Directing in PROMAX BDA Global 2004. As a TV Executive he has worked as the VP Creative Marketing for OWN and BET. Also as the SVP of Marketing for FUSE Media and more recently as the VP of Marketing and Creative for Disney Channel.
As a Live-Action Director Jesus has directed more than 150 commercials and his first short film “Lucy & Ricky” was selected by Sundance Film Festival 2003, among many other festivals. Jesus’ other shorts, including “Coffee, Desserts, Light Fare” and “Solitude” have been invited to Germany, Spain, Italy, Australia and New Zealand. His first feature film "Sunset Junction" is available on iTunes.
